videoNEXT Secures $5.4M in Series B Financing Joseph Costa Appointed as President and CEO for Security Software Developer
May 8, 2007 - Chantilly, Va.
videoNEXT, a developer of innovative security management solutions, today announced that it has closed $5.4 million in series B financing and has appointed Joseph Costa as its president and chief executive officer. Christopher Gettings will continue in the role of chairman and assume responsibilities for business development for federal customers and strategic partners.
This round of financing was concluded at a significantly increased valuation over videoNEXT's initial round in December 2005. The lead Series B investor is Delta Private Equity Partners of New York City and Moscow. New Series B funding also came from Newlight Associates, a venture capital firm based in New York City, and Longstreet Partners, a private equity and M&A firm headquartered in Vienna, Va. Newlight Associates and Longstreet Partners were both participants in videoNEXT's Series A financing in December 2005. This new round of funding will be used to further expand marketing, sales and product development efforts.
"I am really gratified that Joe finds videoNEXT and the technology we have created to be as exciting as I do," said Gettings. "By joining our team, he marks a new stage in the company's development and growth. Joe brings extraordinary depth in leadership and experience in building strong partner and dealer networks in the security space. We're building the team to take the videoNEXT message and offering to the broader commercial markets served by leading systems integrators."
Regarding the financing, Gettings continued, "I am pleased to welcome Delta Private Equity Partners on board with us. The great progress we have made since our Series A funding combined with more than 100% revenue growth over the same quarter last year enabled us to attract such a high caliber financial partner, and at such a big increase in value."
"Video surveillance is the fastest growing segment in the security industry," explained Costa. "Having spent more than 30 years in the security industry, I see a great opportunity at videoNEXT. With the convergence that is occurring between IT and physical security, it is obvious that videoNEXT's Security Knowledge Manager (SKM®) facilitates and accelerates this process. The company not only offers a stable, feature-rich product with high market demand, but its team of dedicated IT professionals is very passionate about the company and the system they have developed. I look forward to maximizing this investment and taking videoNEXT to the next level in its path to success."
